So they’re announcing this, and we don’t even have a release date for the movie's BD yet?

grecefar 2022-10-22 10:12

I never thought we would get another season and even more after a movie were there was a time skip.

Dop 2022-10-22 12:21

This is fantastic news! I'd though the movie would bring the whole series to an end, and was not expecting a third season at all!

Infinite Zenith 2022-10-22 12:50

As memory serves, the movie is all-new content set after the series. There is still a lot of manga left to adapt, so the movie was actually more surprising than a third season, which I expect will follow up with events from the second season. That said, the format is good – television series are simulcast and do not have unreasonable wait times as movies do.

thanks for the info, then I'll just wait to see this season and the watch the movie.

Kanon 2022-10-22 17:07

I'm delighted by this news. I thought the movie killed all chances of a third season with its timeskip. It looks like they're just going to ignore it and pick up where the manga left off.

Hope the studio change to 8-Bit goes well :).

Nachtwandler 2023-07-09 14:09

I'm surprised C-Station abandoned one of their main cash-grab franchises. Are they decided to focus on male idols staff only?

8-bit should be fine. They made a great job with Yama no Susume after all.

FlareKnight 2023-07-09 17:20

That's nice news. This show is generally a really solid comfort show. Didn't necessarily love the movie, but the story picking up where season 2 left off should make it plenty relaxing.

serenade_beta 2023-07-10 00:01

Lol, didn't they do a movie where all of the girls grew up? :heh:
That was a really weird decision and they are already backtracking
Those "characters you knew grew up" movies are always so weird...

To clarify, they did, and the movie was great.

No, they're not "backtracking". The movie was meant to explore new directions in a post-secondary world while they were waiting for enough material to adapt. There's nothing weird about that.

No, it's not. Unless you can put in the minimum of effort and clarify a little, there's zero issue with these sorts of films, and you could always just not watch them if they're not in your realm of interest.

As the legendary Japanese say, 可能性を生み出しただけでアウトなんだよ
The fact that the movie exists means that no matter what they do in a new season, we know where this is gonna end up, so what's the point in the journey now if you are spoiled of the ending?
Then again, cute girls doing cute things, so it's true that most people don't care anyways. Forget the movie exists and watch the girls be cute.
You're probably gonna say something like "Oh no, this is deeper than that", but... nah. They're working hard! Deep! They're living! Deep! Every single one of them

I don't particularly care for Japanese quotes, nor do I believe that snark is warranted here, but I will address the misconceptions above. The choice to do the movie about adults was deliberate: at some point, one might ask, if everyone's camping so much, what happens in their future? Clarifying this means one can enjoy all of the intermediate events without this concern. The ending in such shows is irrelevant because it's the journey that matters. In real life, it is commonplace for people will grow up, establish their careers and retire. However, all of their stories as to how they reached this point will differ, and it is what they learn along the way that counts. The outcome is quite similar in all cases, but because different people will take different journeys, it is worth seeing these stories and determining what can be learnt from someone else's experience. In this case, knowing someone reached their goals isn't particularly helpful, but knowing what it took to get there is valuable.

Now that that this little matter is settled, we have some exciting news: according to the official Twitter/X account, the third season is scheduled for April 2024.

Finally, here's a trailer: it's been around since late September and gives us a chance to see the new art style.

Spoiler:

Kanon 2024-04-04 17:50

The first half was pretty much Shimarin: the origin. It was of course no surprise that she gets her love of camping from her grandpa.

The second half was fun. A bit of educatonal DIY.

It will take a bit of time for me to get used to the new designs. Rin in particular looks really different compared to previous seasons. The backgrounds were also eerily realistic at times, were they real life pictures?

FlareKnight 2024-04-04 19:15

Yep. That's the stuff :). Just good to be back with this show.

Enjoyed Rin's origin story. Pretty cute and I like that camping really did bring her and her grandfather closer. Some powerful karma coming back to Rin in realizing what she put her Grandpa through to prove himself ;). Admittedly he certainly had more upper body strength than a teenage Rin would have. So it was probably harder on her than him. And of course love those little moments where Rin is looking forward to her next trip with Nadeshiko.

The little alcohol stove making scene was cute. And hey I'm all in favor of the cast embracing some low tech/cost options. They do have income now which is good, but they could do well enough with a bit less cost.

It definitely felt like a few scenes at least had real life pictures as the background. I wouldn't be completely shocked. Maybe they are getting an extra kick of budget from places to advertise them via the backgrounds.

Master_Yoma 2024-04-04 20:53

Well its back and starting off with young Rin and her grandpa and with him biting off more then he can chew trying to start a fire the old way but at less he did it

So there making an alcohol burner
