Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu Season 2 got announced today, after the final episode.

Surprisingly enjoyable Isekai of the season gets a surprise second season :D.

Mentally I was ready for another case of an enjoyable show not getting a second season. But thankfully that wasn't the case here :).

Definitely hyped for another season of this!

I remember seeing on the yaraon website (which was an article from another website) that halfway through the season this anime had already made a profit of 400 million yen for the NTV channel (or something like that, I'm still a beginner in japanese). So I think it was expected based on that article.

Woo! Was honestly just semi-regularly hoping to get news about this.

Really nice to have a specific season to look forward to. Considering how nuts things got near the end of season 1 I'm excited to see how things play out in season 2. And especially will be nice to have Mio back :).

New studio is JC Staff. Maybe the reason why it took so long after it was announced was finding a studio doing it.

I'm ok with the studio change. Previous one did a good job, but I think JC Staff can handle this. Plus I'm liking the news about it being 2 consecutive cours. Will have been a bit of a wait for this second season, but looks like it'll be worth it :).

Seems like the second season is going to be as wild a ride as expected. Will be nice to see the whole cast again. Things got pretty dark and serious especially near the end so who knows how this season will play out.

But the trailer shows some characters that seem poised to stand out.

Tsukimichi is back! Complete with Makoto waxing poetic and recapping his adventures up to this point and how one bad Isekai experience with a rotten Goddess ended up landing him his own demi-plane, followers, waifu's, and crazy experiences :nod:.

The new OP is pretty fun, with Makoto and his group looking powerful and intimidating, plenty of new, colorful, characters they'll meet along the way, the two new Heroes from Japan like Makoto, some romance, and plenty of powerful magic :cool:!

It's rough for Makoto when the rotten Goddess made him look like a monster when anyone sees his face, he can't speak the common tongue, he can't teleport now lest the Goddess find him, and he can't even level up and improve his rank as an adventurer...but at least he's got to take the scenic route with Shiki and he's a good tipper :nod:.

Points for trying to cook for your beloved master, Mio (and first Mio pout of the New Year), but having a killer spider who is willing to eat anything cook food she doesn't even really understand was a recipe for disaster. She basically kills pretty much all the named characters in season 1! With minerals, a literal dissolving pot, razor-sharp monster leaves, and more! Good thing Tomoe was able to distract her with a quest to become a good cook and Emma was on-hand with healing abilities :T_T:!

It's a tale as old as time, a lone village beset by bandits, a cute and young girl desperate for help, and one lone protagonist who can help them...and also knows how to kill two birds with one stone as he manages to throw the thugs trying to rob him at the thugs trying to assault Lana :smile:!

I love how Makoto got a little light wingman game going on by pushing Eto to be there for Lana :smile:.

The worst decision these bandits ever made was unintentionally naming themselves after one of Makoto's favorite Japanese songs...not only do they get silently sniped by Makoto for their troubles, but also incinerated. They're lucky he's not out to kill anyone at the moment, but they'll face justice for their crimes all the same. And it was nice to see Makoto's mask again :cool:.

So when will Makoto meet the Heroes and his fellow Japanese Isekai'ed like him? Probably sooner than he thinks ;).

Here's Natsuki Hanae and Kenjiro Tsuda delivering on a ballad as cute versions of Makoto and Shiki traverse a stage for the ED :D!

The opening got me looking foward to this season with all the characters and the heroes.

I like that he stopped using the mask, while he is still perceive as ugly, it isn't as bad as the beginning, like makoto said it's tolerable.

Mio's path towards good cooking is very...very...very...long! Probably a good thing to hit her with the realization that people...do not eat mineral ore...or buildings! And she could probably stand to control her flame usage so not to vaporize bread!

Not sure that sending Mio on a cooking quest will actually result in her learning to cook. But I suppose that isn't the actual point. Just help save everyone from certain death. Although in this case Mio will effectively become as big a disaster as she was as the giant spider...just via poisoning everyone she meets!

I'm surprised he stuck with giving up the mask. Though I guess he felt a need for a drastic shift considering how everything played out before. Still basically looking like pure horror to the general public isn't exactly comfortable. But the mask only did so much there so I suppose it's fine.

Honestly I'm glad that Makoto hasn't completely thrown away his morals or humanity. He's in another world so obviously some adjustments are inevitable. But it'll only be a tragic thing if he just gives up on humanity in general. Regardless of how he feels that's what his parents are and what he himself is.
