I wasn't surprised. Expected this to happen since I heard the news about the third year novel.

I hope it'll be a TV series.

This feels more like a movie to be honest but if it is a series then as long as they keep the trend of the S2 instead of the silly yuribait of S1 then it might be good.

Confirmed for 2024. Here’s a recap of the order of the series.

Kumiko’s 1st year is covered in 3 novel volumes plus 1 short story volume. Season 1 anime covers the first volume and some parts from the short story volume. Season 2 covers the second and third volumes. Each season got a movie version.

Kumiko’s 2nd year is covered in 2 novel volumes but only one of them focuses on Kumiko while the other focuses on Mizore and Nozomi. A movie based on Mizore and Nozomi volume and then another one based on Kumiko volume were released. There is a short story volume that mostly take place during the 2nd year and one of the stories will be adapted into OVA or short movie that will be released in 2023.

Kumiko’s 3rd year is covered in 2 novel volumes which Season 3 will adapt.

Great to finally have some news of this one. It's legit one of my favorite shows from the modern era KyoAni (now that they are mostly focused on owning their IPs), quite possibly my top property from them even.

I never liked Euphonium much, but it's certainly a lot better than all their other IPs. Not sure if Violet Evergarden is one of their own IP or not.

Violet Evergarden is the only LN that actully won their competition instead of just getting a honorary award. Euphonium on the other hand was not their publishing house property but they bought the rights if I am not mistaken.

I personally liked Euphonium despite all of the baiting, but I was never able to finish S2. Still hope to find time to watch it and the movies sometimes later.

I mean, I like it fine, I'm just not a big fan. The baiting never really bothered me personally. It was clear from the start Reina was in love with Taki-sensei, destroying any hope of yuri. I felt it was pretty honest about what it would be considering that.

I just do not like when romance part in any series is replaced with back and forth baiting between different options. And seems like a lot of people hated series because of it. THankfiully it was not the main plot point in this case.

It's a really good series focusing on the clearly best musical instrument of them all :D. Glad to have news about the third season and will happily enjoy it when the time comes.
