So, why was this forum split? I can understand the FT Zero manga getting its own since that was a spin-off of the manga, but the anime isn't. Why not make a new split for every story arc to come?

^^ One of the Fairy Tail regular posters requested that the Fairy Tail Zero discussion thread be moved from the Upcoming forum to here and turned in a regular discussion thread. When I researched the request, I saw that Crunchyroll had indeed given Zero a new name. (CR calls it "Fairy Tail Season 2".) So I fulfilled the request. That's the history of how this thread came about.

If you wish to return to discussing the Zero episodes in the main thread, I have no strong objections. All I ask is that the regulars pick one thread and use that one thread.

Crunchyroll did not give Zero a new name. "Fairy Tail Series 2" what Crunchyroll calls everything from episode 176 onwards. They ignored the memo that the episode count wasn't restarting when the series resumed.

There should never have been a Fairy Tail Zero discussion thread in the upcoming forum to begin with. It was not announced as a separate series, and sure enough, it's just the latest arc of the anime. That's why this thread went entirely ignored until you moved a random selection of the posts discussing Zero to it.

I'm okay with a separate thread. It doesn't matter is the title didn't change. This is a side story with totally different characters than the main one.

It's not that big of a deal that it's separated imo. Just means we can solo focus on this topic from now on. I'll be in favor of how it is now.

Despite the fact that Zero is part of the regular anime episode count I'm with Kazu-kun on this one. It's actually nice to have Zero in a separate thread since the story is particularly removed from the regular Fairy Tail storyline.

Since there is a split in opinions, I'll create a simple poll where everyone can vote on where the discussion for Zero should be held. Give me a little time to put one together.

Until then, keep using this thread to discuss Zero if only to keep all the discussion posts in one location.

It's Fairy Tail's equivalent of Bleach's Turn Back the Pendulum arc. It opened with filler for Natsu and Happy's journey, including big spoilers for the GMG arc, and the Tartaros arc. It will likely end with either more filler for Natsu and Happy, or filler for Lucy. It's not a separate series that people can watch at any time without being spoiled. Errors like this thread help give that impression. Furthermore it helps contribute to the general confusion. It's bad enough that Crunchyroll's refusal to correct their numbering has confused people as to what order to watch things, or that the series being listed separately in a lot of places when it resumed in 2014 has given the people the impression there was a reboot, or otherwise confused people as to what the difference is. I do not look forward to people seeing things like this thread and asking "when do I watch Fairy Tail Zero" a question that wouldn't even need to be asked if people hadn't jumped the gun to declare the new arc a separate series, then refused to correct.

On a more on-topic note, it seems next episode is filler. I guess it's necessary if they want to cover the story in 12 or 13 episodes. There's simply not enough source material. I just hope the filler stuff isn't too silly.
